Nursery team – Bath Spa University

Oak Tree Day Nursery boasts a close knit team of qualified and experienced nursery practitioners.

Our nursery practitioners are dedicated to providing a stimulating, engaging, motivating and caring environment for children to grow, learn and develop in. Children and their families are very important to us and we value and respect their views.

All practitioners have the experience and/or qualification suitable for their role and duties. All practitioners at the nursery hold a full and relevant childcare qualification and hold a valid first aid certificate.

Practitioners are trained in the following areas:

  • Safeguarding children (child protection)
  • Basic Food Hygiene
  • Paediatric First Aid

Managers ensure that practitioners are kept up to date with relevant training opportunities provided by Bath Spa University and the Local Authority and are also encouraged to think about training that would benefit their own personal development.

The Deputy Manager attends regular Special Education Needs and Disability training throughout the year which is provided by the Local Authority. The Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager attend multi agency safeguarding training provided by the Local Safeguarding Board every two years to ensure that they can fulfil their roles as Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Safeguarding Lead respectively.

Nursery policies and procedures are reviewed annually or when guidance changes.
