UK/EU funding - postgraduate

How to fund your postgraduate course, and additional funding that’s available.

Postgraduate studies are a big investment.  Bath Spa University has a wide range of funding possibilities to explore.

Funding for UK/EU students

Postgraduate loans for Master's degrees

A Postgraduate Loan can help with course fees and living costs while you study. For information on how to apply and you student finance entitlement, please visit:

The loan is not means tested and is paid directly into your bank account in three instalments during the academic year.

If you study part-time, you can be considered for a loan provided your study is no more than twice the length of the equivalent full-time course (up to a maximum of four years).

Funding for PGCE students

You can get student finance for the following postgraduate teacher training courses:

  • Initial Teacher Training (ITT) - not including early years
  • Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE)
  • School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)

If you study part-time, the Initial Teacher Training course needs to be at least 25% intensity in order for students to be eligible for a part-time loan for tuition fees and maintenance.

If you'd like to find out more about available funding, please visit our PGCE funding webpages.
