Here are a few additional scholarships and funding options offered by various organisations.

External scholarships

BUTEX Scholarship

Each year BUTEX awards a number of scholarships to students studying abroad for either a semester or for a whole academic year. The value of each scholarship is £500 and will be paid to the winners once they have arrived and registered at their host university.

Chevening Scholarships

Chevening Scholarships is the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK.

Chevening Scholars come from 118 countries worldwide (excluding the USA and the EU), and this year the Scholarships will support more than 600 individuals. There are over 42,000 Chevening alumni around the world who together comprise an influential and highly regarded global network. The programme provides full or part funding for full time courses at postgraduate level, normally a one-year Master’s degree, in any subject and at any UK university.

Marshall Scholarships

Up to forty scholars from the USA are selected each year to study at graduate level at a UK institution in any field of study.

As future leaders with a lasting understanding of British society, Marshall Scholars strengthen the enduring relationship between the British and American peoples, their governments and their institutions. Marshall Scholars are talented, independent and wide-ranging, and their time as Scholars enhances their intellectual and personal growth. Their direct engagement with Britain through its best academic programmes contributes to their ultimate personal success.

Master's Compare Postgraduate Scholarship

Master's Compare offers an opportunity to win a £5,000 scholarship towards a full time or part time Master's course. The draw is open to UK, EU and international fee paying students.

The South, West and Wales Doctoral Training Partnership Studentship Competition

The SWW DTP is funded by and works in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

The AHRC funds postgraduate training and research in the arts and humanities, from archaeology and English literature to design and dance. The quality and range of research supported not only provides social and cultural benefits but also contributes to the economic success of the UK.

The AHRC provides funding for a portfolio of programmes that are designed to support the best of UK research, and the development of a world-class research base.

The Leverhulme Trade Charities Trust Bursaries

The Leverhulme Trade Charities Trust offers financial support for grocers, pharmacists, commercial travellers and their families. They offer bursaries for both undergraduates and postgraduates.

MyWorld Scholarship

The MyWorld Scholarship supports home (UK) fee-paying students who are from underrepresented groups in higher education to access taught postgraduate study linked to the creative technologies industry.

22 awards of up to £5,000 (pro-rata for the amount of credit they are studying) are available in 2024/2025 and will be paid against the student’s tuition fees for a taught postgraduate degree programme as a fee reduction/waiver.

The educations.com Study a Master's in Europe scholarship offers one postgraduate scholarship of up to €5,000 to help cover your tuition fees and get you one step closer to your next great adventure. The scholarship is open to students from any country who'll be studying a master’s degree abroad at a European university or graduate school.

Flywire Charitable Foundation

The Flywire Charitable Foundation has seven Scholarships of $5,000 in 2021 open to students worldwide. Applicants will need to submit either an essay or video on one of the following themes - Social Justice, Global Health, and Global Citizenship Applicants. The essay or video should explain what and where they are studying, what hurdles they had to overcome to pursue their studies, what they hope to achieve with their education and how it relates to the theme of the scholarship they have selected.
