Young Adult Carers

We recognise that students may have caring commitments and appreciate the challenge of combining University work with these responsibilities.

A Young Adult Carer is someone aged 16-25 who provides unpaid care to a partner, relative, friend or neighbour who couldn’t manage without this help because of frailty, physical or mental illness, disability or addiction.

General advice and guidance

Student Support's Student Engagement Advisor is the key contact for young adult carers while they are studying at Bath Spa.

The Advisor can provide information, advice and guidance to students who are facing difficulties with their course due to their caring responsibilities. This can also include discussing support available externally from local organisations in the student’s local community.

The Student Engagement Advisor is also able to speak to you if you're considering applying to Bath Spa, but you're not yet a student at the University.
