Located in the Gardens area of Newton Park campus, we have well-equipped laboratories dedicated to a variety of practical work. Some are used for specialist microbiological culturing and analysis, others for biochemistry and physiology.

Our laboratories, glasshouses and experimental areas provide specialist facilities for a wide range of biological studies including aquatic, ecological, anatomical and soil analysis.

Our modern ecological surveying equipment such as bat detectors and night vision wildlife camera enables you to be involved in interesting and contemporary biological research studies.

“The campus provides a rich variety of woodland, grassland and freshwater habitats, which are used extensively in practical work.”

In addition, we have ‘low hazard’ laboratory space where you can carry out activities such as the preparation and assessment of food, exercise or psychological studies.
