Our purpose is to support you in your academic work.  At any stage of your academic career. 

To book an appointment click on the link below; then click "Book Tutor Appointment" to make an appointment with one of our advisors.  Please note: appointments are available one week in advance, available from Fridays.

Distance Learning students

 For Winter Vacation Drop Ins will be open in Newton Park every weekday 9.00-2.00 that the University is open and there will also be some appointments available outside of these times.

Newton Park

The Writing and Learning Centre is located in the Library in the room to the right of the main foyer.  Our Drop In service is available 9.00am-2.00pm Monday - Friday and our 1:1 appointments take place here. Sion Hill

A Writing and Learning Centre advisor is available in term-time on Mondays 9.00am - 5.00pm (PM.G02, Palace Yard Mews) and Wednesdays 10.00am to 1.00pm (T1.36, Sion Hill).  Email us on wlc@bathspa.ac.uk or you can book an appointment online here. All BSAD students are welcome to come to Newton Park for workshops and appointments.

Corsham Court

A Writing and Learning Centre advisor visits Corsham Court in term-time Tuesday 9.00-1.00 and Thursday from 10am-3pm (SB. G7). We offer workshops through the Researcher Development Programme. Email us on wlc@bathspa.ac.uk.  All students are welcome to book an appointment with one of our advisors here or attend Newton Park for workshops.  Alternatively, you can email to arrange a Google Hangout virtual appointment with one of our advisors.

All other campuses

Bath Spa University students and staff are welcome to book workshops and appointments at either Corsham Court, Newton Park or Sion Hill. If you are a distance student or on placement you are welcome to use our email service (what's this?). You might also find our resources on Minerva helpful. 

Distance Learning students

Email feedback is available for those students who are distance learners or are off campus on placement.  We endeavour to reply to queries within two working days but at busy times or during the summer vacation there may be a delay of 4-5 working days before your essay feedback is available. Please attach your essay when you contact us and indicate the type of help you require e.g. structure, grammar, referencing.

The Writing and Learning Centre helps students become independent scholars who understand the expectations of their work and can confidently use learning resources.  Email us on wlc@bathspa.ac.uk.

Students are entitled to a maximum of two WLC appointments of any type (email, 1:1, drop-in) about any given assignment. For undergraduate dissertations students can book a maximum of four appointments. Postgraduate dissertation chapters will be treated as individual assignments.

Students with dyslexia or other specific learning needs are welcome to use our services, but should also contact Student Support on studentsupport@bathspa.ac.uk for specialist help.

The English Language Unit provide English language and EAP (English for Academic Purposes) support for all international students whose first language is not English.
