"To hear that I was eligible for the Doris Southcott bursary this year was such a huge blessing. I knew that my final year in BA(Hons) Fashion Design was going to be incredibly time consuming, and I was concerned about the financial costs attached to this year. I didn’t want to jeopardise my study time by taking on extra work to cover these costs. So, to be awarded twice throughout my final year with funds from the Doris Southcott Bursary was an unbelievable surprise, and one that made this final year so successful for me.

Only a selection of the course get picked by an Industry panel to show their collection at Graduate Fashion Week, and this year I was fortunate enough to be one of those students to be selected. It’s an amazing opportunity because industry representatives from all over the country come and see your work and want to know more about it. I have since had an interview with Karen Millen and I am waiting to hear back about a job as a Design Assistant, and this was all because of Graduate Fashion Week. I am sure that I couldn’t have done this without the help from Doris Southcott Bursary."
