About the seminar
The teacher education system in England has seen a series of changes in the last ten years that have sought to challenge the role of HEIs and prioritise school-based experience. In this seminar Dr Hordern unpacks the assumptions underpinning England’s new Core Content Framework (CCF) in respect of the educational research required for teacher expertise. He will draw on his recent co-authored paper: ‘The core content framework and the ‘new science’ of educational research’.
About the speaker
Dr Jim Hordern is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Bath and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Plymouth. His interests are in educational knowledge and practice, primarily in professional and vocational education. He previously worked at Bath Spa University as a Reader in the School of Education.
