About the seminar

Ben Simmons and Hazel Vernon present the links between several small projects related to accessibility for people with learning disabilities.

They'll cover:

  • A Watershed-funded project about accessible communication for people with learning disabilities (completed in 2022)
  • A HEQR-funded project about cultural heritage access in the Frome region (completed in 2023)
  • A new project about making heritage spaces more inclusive for people with learning disabilities, funded through an AHRC Impact Accelerator Award (2023-2024)

About the speakers

Ben Simmons is a Reader Inclusive Education and Disability Research and is the Principal Investigator on the We Are the People project that is developing a disability research network in South West England.

Hazel Vernon is the Project Manager for We Are the People.
