About the seminar
Professor Linda la Velle presents findings of a novel mapping exercise to assess the extent to which initial teacher education (ITE) focused research was returned in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF).
A sample of 12 English HEIs that provided ITE programmes and returned outputs to the 2014 REF were identified. Analysis of these outputs shows that less than 6 per cent were focused on ITE. The implications of this analysis are discussed.
