What if I don’t return a book or it gets damaged?
Please let us know as soon as possible so that we can help.
If Library items aren’t returned or are lost/damaged, you will temporarily have library privileges withdrawn and be charged replacement costs at the full current price of the item, or £15 (whichever is greater).
Invoices for lost or damaged books will normally be sent to you by the University finance department and payment should be made to them. If you find and return the Library items within 6 months of the invoice being paid, we will be happy to give you a refund.
Can I reserve books that are on the shelf before I visit the library?
We do not offer a reservation service where users can "reserve" available books.
Holds can only be placed on items where all copies are out on loan, or at a campus different to your home campus.
If a book is showing as "available" at your home campus, you are expected to visit the Library to find the book on the shelves as per a first-come first-served basis.
