The Forum is an historic venue in the centre of Bath, hosting live music and entertainment.
The Forum, originally an Art-Deco cinema, is a Grade II listed building in the centre of Bath. As Bath’s biggest theatre-style music venue, the building offers a unique history whilst also hosting internationally acclaimed musicians and shows.
It first opened its doors to the public as a cinema in 1934, and today The Forum represents a true reflection of typical Art Deco splendour, with the iconic green cinema offering a spacious, luxurious audience experience within an elegant auditorium. However, it is The Forum’s ability to offer this unique history while showcasing the most internationally-acclaimed musicians, celebrities and shows that really sets it apart from the crowd.
From Jools Holland to Katie Melua, and comedians to Strictly stars, The Forum hosts some of the UK's biggest entertainers.
About the partnership
The Forum plays a part in the university journey of many Bath Spa students. From offering both short and long-term internships, to hiring students in the bank of show staff, there are many opportunities for students to gain work experience throughout their degree.
The Forum team also support students on a range of degree courses by allowing them to use its range of facilities and equipment. Bath Spa students have organised a range of events at the venue including comedy nights, folk nights and even a James Bond themed ball! As a venue, The Forum also helps to bridge the gap between different schools within the University, allowing for collaboration on projects such as theatre plays and music shows.
Staff at The Forum have a wealth of practical experience in the events industry, and they share this knowledge with Bath Spa students through the roles of guest lecturer and associate technician within several schools of study.
The Forum Coffee House provides a comfortable and focused study space which is used by many students, and when it's time for an evening off, students can relax with discounted tickets to the large range of shows staged at the venue.
Students also celebrate the end of their university journey with The Forum, which hosts both summer and winter graduations. The Forum has several Bath Spa alumni on its staff team.
