We’ve got lots to share to help support you, highlight your skills, and get you to where you want to be! All of our programmes will help you along your way into the world of work. During your time at Bath Spa University, you’ll be continually exploring your options and experiencing different paths to progression, but all roads start at our online portal, MyCareer.

Discover our one-stop-shop portal for access to: thousands of jobs (including all of the available on-campus part-time jobs); one-to-one appointments that are personalised to you; information on when our events are happening; helpful resources on our most common topics (and then some!); and, if you don't quite have room in your schedule for these things, an ask a question feature where we’ll get back to you with the help you need.

Explore your options and job possibilities

It’s common to not know what you want to do next. Exploring your strengths and interests will help you to recognise what you could develop into a potential career. You could do this by consulting our resources, asking questions at our events, or by getting a mentor to find out what industries are really like and need from employees.

Experience work through exclusive internships

Gaining work experience will help you to develop skills as well as identifying what you like when looking for a job.

We run a variety of different work experience options through our Bath Spa Works programmes. These programmes present exclusive opportunities only available to BSU students. We also support several placement modules that you can choose to take as part of your degree.

Progress your ideas and career plans

We have lots of graduate support, including more exclusive job options exclusive for BSU graduates through our very own Graduate Scheme, an internship programme, and a Studio Residency scheme that includes local partners as well as the university’s unique creative graduate studio Emerge.

We also offer freelance and business start-up support programmes that include significant funding if you’re keen to be your own boss after graduating.

In-Person Support

If you want a chat, you can also visit our Careers Space on the ground floor of Commons (opposite Costa) at Newton Park. We're open during term-time:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 10am to 4pm
  • Tuesday: 11am to 4pm. 

Our friendly student Career Champions are here to help. They understand what you're going through and can guide you to the right resources and offer helpful peer advice.
