Student Hub at Newton Park and Locksbrook Campus

The Student Hub is a drop-in space that offers all of our students the opportunity to speak to members of our friendly and experienced student-facing teams.

Your questions answered

Bath Spa University's Student Information team is available in the Hub to offer advice and a range of support including guidance on the University’s processes and topics that you might come across during your studies.

If you’re not sure who to contact or you need help finding your way around our campuses, visit the Hub and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Where can you find us?

The Student Hub is located in:

  • Twiverton building at Newton Park campus which is opposite the Refectory and between the University Theatre and Commons
  • Locksbrook Campus G.18 just off The Street

Opening times

Newton Park:

  • Monday – Friday: 9.00am – 4.00pm

Locksbrook Campus:

  • Monday – Friday: 9.00am – 4.00pm

Please note that opening times can be subject to change and will be more limited out of term time.

Who can you speak to?

Members of the Student Information and IT Service Desk teams are based in the Hub from Monday to Friday.

On select days, the Finance and Fees teams are also available, as are staff from Student Wellbeing Services team (for bookable appointments only).

At certain times of the year, other teams such as the University’s Accommodation, Careers, and Immigration Advice and Compliance teams will also be available. Drop-in sessions will be advertised by those teams nearer the time.

Student Information team

The Student Information Team offers guidance, support and advice to all Bath Spa students on a wide range of areas.

In particular, we can help with:

  • academic queries
  • processes linked to your course
  • contacting other teams
  • finding your way around our campuses
  • understanding your student record and assessment results.

We also have a private space available in the Newton Park Student Hub. If you’d prefer to speak to us about your student record in confidence, you can do so there.

  • assist with Student Finance maintenance loan payment queries
  • manage the DBS application process for PGCE students.

IT Service Desk team

Members of the IT Service Desk team are on-hand at the Student Hub on weekdays between 8.30am and 4.30pm to help with your queries, including:

  • WiFi and internet connectivity
  • logging into University systems (including email and Minerva)
  • installing University provided software (including Adobe CC)
  • printing and scanning
  • general advice and basic troubleshooting for your devices.

You can also contact the IT Services Team by logging a call via the MyServices student portal. MyServices is the one-stop-shop self-service portal, providing access to hundreds of resources including access to services, troubleshooting assistance and frequently asked questions. You can use MyServices to find solutions to problems you’re having or submit a call to the right department. Our student IT induction guide is also designed to answer many of your queries.

Finance team

Finance consists of various teams that specialise in different areas. Below is a brief overview of the teams, the areas they manage and their contact details.

  • How to pay fees
  • Instalment dates
  • How to update card details

Offers advice and guidance to students in:

  • Student funding
  • Bursaries
  • Scholarships
  • Studentships
  • International funding

Accounts Payable team: 

Offers advice and guidance to students in:

  • Payment of student expenses
