Ofsted Outstanding

The Bath Spa School of Education has been awarded a grade 1 judgement, representing an 'outstanding' provision for its primary and secondary teacher education programmes, and the highest grade that can be given.

This is the second successive Ofsted inspection resulting in a grade 1 score for the School of Education's Primary and Secondary programmes which builds on a long established history of teacher training, excellent education research, and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The Bath Spa Teacher

The partnership believes that from the start of the journey to be excellent teachers, our trainees must recognise their professional responsibilities, as well as the impact they will have on the lives of children and young people. From the start of your training programme, you will be expected to make a positive contribution to children and young peoples’ learning and progress.

Because of this expectation, you will become a ‘Bath Spa Teacher’ (BST). The partnership believes that by starting with the acknowledgement of the trainees as teachers, you will embrace the professional qualities and attributes that are necessary for your successful outcomes, as well as those of the children’s and young people you teach.
