What is Clearing at BSU?
Clearing is another chance to secure a place at the right university for you. If you’ve changed your mind about where you want to study in September, we’ll help you find your place at BSU.
From 2 July, you can apply for a place to study here by calling us or submitting our online form.

Clearing accommodation
We’ll guarantee successful Clearing applicants an offer of accommodation, meaning one less thing for you to to worry about.
We understand that there's lots to consider when it comes to student accommodation, and we're here to support you.
Bath Spa accommodation is self-catered, securely monitored 24/7, and connected by buses to both campuses.
How to meet the conditions of this offer
- You'll need to make BSU your Clearing choice through your UCAS account by 6pm Friday 14 August.
- You must also submit an accommodation expression of interest form, via our website, by 6pm Tuesday 18 August.
If you meet these dates, and your Clearing place is confirmed by Admissions, we'll offer you a place in university provided accommodation on a first-come, first-served basis.
You can find more information on Accommodation options on our Accommodation pages. Please be aware that not all accommodation options will be possible. We anticipate most availability being in our City locations, rather than Newton Park.

When does Clearing open for 2026 entry?
Clearing opens on 2 July. As soon as you have your results, you can apply for a place.
How do I apply through Clearing?
If you have your results and don’t hold any offers, you can search and apply for a place through Clearing by calling us on +44 (0)1225 876 180, or completing our online form, after 2 July.
Our phone lines are open 9.30am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday. On results day, we will be open from 8am.
What courses are in Clearing?
We offer a variety of courses; you can view our full list here.
Can I apply for a Clearing place before I get my results?
No, you can’t apply for a place through Clearing before you have your results. While you wait, you can register your interest with us and receive updates about joining BSU through Clearing.
Can I defer or release my place?
If you'd like to defer your confirmed place here until September 2027, please email admissions@bathspa.ac.uk and include your UCAS Personal ID (or Bath Spa ID number), date of birth and your full name.
If you want to change your course with us, please call us on +44 (0)1225 876 180 as soon as possible.
If you wish to be released from your unconditional offer with us, you can do this by using the 'Decline your place' button in your UCAS application.
