Ian Wills

Personal statement

Ian Wills is a Lecturer in Cyber Security. He comes to Bath Spa with an industry background in computer systems and software development, with nearly 20 years’ experience as an Information and Cyber Security Consultant for such clients as Leonardo Helicopters, BAE Systems, Thales UK, the UK MoD and HM Treasury.

His specialist knowledge in the world of cyber covers:

• Information security risk assessment and management
• Security architectures
• Security governance, standards, policies and frameworks
• Critical national infrastructure
• Cyber threats and mitigations.

Ian is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and is also certified by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) as a Certified Cyber Professional (CCP) and Security and Information Risk Advisor.

He is also an independent assessor for the NSCS Cyber Essentials Scheme, as well as the IASME Governance Standard, providing cyber advice for UK organisations.

Academic qualifications

• BSC and MEng in Microelectronic Systems Engineering - The Victoria University of Manchester.

• 20 years' experience as an information and cyber security consultant
