Ian Wills is a Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security, bringing a wealth of industry expertise to Bath Spa University. With nearly two decades of experience as an Information and Cyber Security Consultant, he has delivered high-impact security solutions for leading organisations, including Leonardo Helicopters, BAE Systems, Thales UK, the UK Ministry of Defence, and HM Treasury.

His professional practice spans a broad spectrum of cyber security domains, including:

  • Information security risk assessment and management
  • Security architecture design and assurance
  • Governance, standards, policies, and regulatory frameworks
  • Protection of critical national infrastructure
  • Advanced cyber threat analysis and mitigation strategies.

Ian holds the prestigious Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) credential and has previously worked as Security and Information Risk Advisor (SIRA) under the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) scheme as a Certified Cyber Professional (CCP).

In addition to his academic and consultancy work, he serves as an independent assessor for both the NCSC Cyber Essentials Scheme and the IASME Governance Standard, providing trusted cyber security guidance and assurance to organisations across the UK.
