Lou Riddoch – Bath Spa University

Personal statement

Lou is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Education within the School of Education. In addition to her teaching responsibilities on the course, she has a key role in linking with school mentors, supporting trainees on placement and interviewing prospective trainees.

Over a number of years Lou held PE specific roles in a local secondary school as Curriculum Team Leader for PE and Director of Sport & Science Specialism, before moving to a whole school role as Director of SMSC.

Lou is passionate about the role PE has to play on the health and well-being of young people. In the lead up to the London 2012 Games, her passion for embedding the Olympic and Paralympic Values as whole school values had a major impact on the ethos of local schools and the community.
