Royal Commonwealth Scholarship

Details

The Royal Commonwealth Society Bath and District is an educational charity working in Bath and the surrounding area, whose aim is to promote international understanding through the vehicle of the modern Commonwealth. This scholarship will support two students from an international commonwealth country to assist them in their studies at Bath Spa University. 

Value: The scholarship will be allocated to two students who will each receive £500 towards supporting their studies. The payments will be made in two instalments, the first in term one, and the second after reading week in term two.

Number of awards available: two.

Criteria 

This scholarship is open to applicants:

• Whose main place of residence is in an international commonwealth country
• Who have accepted and are enrolled on a course of study at Bath Spa University for September intake
• Who are studying in an undergraduate or postgraduate course.

How to apply

Applicants are required to:

1. Fill in the Royal Commonwealth Bath and District Scholarship application form
2. Write a short essay to demonstrate how their educational course will benefit both
   • the community in their country of residence
   • their career post-university
3. Return the application form and short essay to Bath Spa University External Affairs Unit: daro@bathspa.ac.uk.

How applications are judged

The selection of the scholarship recipients will be decided by the University Disbursement Panel in early November and applicants will be notified shortly afterwards.
