Shaping Student Voice: Incoming Vice President Inclusion, Mia Latkovic, talks values, future plans and life at BSU
Wednesday, 29 April, 2026Bath Spa University Students’ Union has announced its newly elected Sabbatical Officers for the 2026/27 academic year, following the recent student elections. The officers will represent the student body and work to enhance the overall student experience across the University.
The new Sabbatical Officers are:
- President: Millie O’Sullivan-Adams
- Vice President Sports & Activities: Maddie Simmons
- Vice President Inclusion: Mia Latkovic
- Vice President Education: Evie Trembath
Final year Business Management student Mia Latkovic has been elected as Vice President Inclusion, with plans to create a space where every student voice is heard, valued, and celebrated.
Mia, who studies Business Management, was recently elected to the role after working closely with students throughout the year. Passionate about diversity, representation, and belonging, Mia hopes to make a long-lasting impact on student experience beyond the academic side of university life.
Mia said she was inspired to run for the role in the Student’s Union after enjoying her time working at the Students’ Union and wanting to continue supporting students in a more meaningful way.
Explaining further, she said:
“For me, inclusion means giving everyone a chance to feel included, looking at those voices of people who aren't spoken about enough and also looking at how intersectionality within those experiences link.”
The officers will work closely with students, University staff, and partner organisations to champion the issues that matter most to the student community. Throughout their term, they will focus on representing student voices, leading campaigns, and supporting initiatives designed to improve academic experience, wellbeing, inclusion, and campus life.

Mia believes the role of Vice President Inclusion is particularly important within the university, especially when it comes to improving accessibility and ensuring students feel comfortable sharing their experiences. She hopes to create opportunities for students who may be struggling to express their thoughts and help turn those conversations into meaningful change.
Mia continued:
“Throughout this year especially, I want to put more of a focus onto accessibility, giving students who are struggling the opportunity to express their thoughts and then perhaps make a change with whatever it is they’re facing.”
Mia’s passion for inclusion has been shaped by her experience as a Student Community Leader within the Business School. Through the role, she has worked closely with students and gained insight into the barriers some face during their time at university. She is also part of the Mental Health Society, which has further strengthened her commitment to supporting student wellbeing and creating a stronger sense of belonging.
As Vice President Inclusion, Mia hopes to champion diversity and build a more inclusive community across the Business School and wider university, ensuring all students feel represented and supported.
