Celebrating creative achievements at the Undergraduate Degree Show 2026

Thursday, 28 May, 2026

Bath Spa University is gearing up for one of the most eagerly awaited events in the academic calendar: the annual Undergraduate Degree Show 2026. Giving graduating students from the University’s Art and Design courses the chance to present their final projects to the public, the event will mark a significant milestone in their creative careers, highlighting the culmination of years of hard work.

Offering friends, family, and the public an opportunity to explore the breadth of creative talent at BSU, the event will be held at BSU’s renovated Grade II listed Art and Design space, Locksbrook Campus.

Visitors can explore an inspiring array of work and engage directly with pieces that reflect the students’ unique artistic voices. For many participants, this will be their very first public exhibition, providing a stepping stone toward professional opportunities in their respective fields.

Associate Vice-Provost Natasha Kidd discussed the importance of the show:

“The Degree Show celebrates the extraordinary talent of our graduating students across art and design. It’s also where our civic role becomes most visible. It’s the most public expression of an ambition we hold all year: that Locksbrook’s spaces, approaches and resources are part of Bath’s creative ecosystem, open to the communities around us.”

The degree show will feature a diverse lineup of student work from a range of disciplines, including:

  • Architecture
  • Creative Arts Practice
  • Fashion Design and Fashion Photography
  • Fine Art
  • Graphic Communication/Design
  • Interior Design
  • Photography
  • Product and Furniture Design
  • Textile Design

Subject Leader in Art, Charlie Tweed, said:

“The annual Degree Show is a moment to be hugely proud of the amazing progress students have made during their studies. Every year, I’m amazed by the ambition of the works in the show, and it’s always an exciting moment to see our studios and wider spaces transformed into professional exhibition spaces, with some wonderful curation of the works on display.”

Shaping the visual identity of the show

Each year, students on BSU’s Art and Design courses take an active role in the show’s marketing, shaping its visual identity by designing the official poster. This year’s poster has been created by third-year Graphic Design students, Cara Matraves and Adele Traverse

Seeking to capture the creative processes that define life at Locksbrook campus, Cara and Adele used words that describe how students approach their practice, seamlessly integrating promotional messaging and advertising assets into the design. To bring the identity to life, bold typography was paired with vibrant colour palettes, echoing the atmosphere of the Undergraduate Degree Show.

Reflecting on her involvement in the show’s branding, Cara Matraves said:

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to represent the University through the Degree Show branding. It’s been really exciting to push the show's identity in a typographic direction, and collaborating with a fellow classmate throughout has been so much fun.”

Adele Traverse said:

“I have thoroughly enjoyed working on the branding for this year’s Degree Show with Cara, and I’m grateful to contribute to representing the University. I’m excited for the atmosphere of the Degree Show and to celebrate the scope of amazing work created by the students at Locksbrook.”

Exhibiting students spotlighted in national magazine

Furthering this year’s celebrations, two exhibiting students have been featured in a-n magazine - the UK’s largest membership organisation for visual artists and creative freelancers.

BA (Hons) Fine Art students Autumn Rose Everson-Darragh and Beth Flanders have had their respective work published in the magazine ahead of the show. Featured alongside a curated selection of 31 artists from across the UK, the profiles highlight the scale of emerging talent at this year’s Degree Show while offering national recognition for the students’ work - an apt celebration of the creativity and ambition of the University’s artists.

You can catch the Undergraduate Degree Show at BSU’s Locksbrook Campus from 6 June until 13 June, with a Private View held on 5 June. Entry is free, with the showcase open each day from 10 am – 6 pm.
