Bath Spa University retains excellence award

Thursday, 21 April, 2022

Bath Spa University is delighted to announce that it has retained its HR Excellence in Research Award after the submission of its ten year review.

The HR Excellence in Research Award is an important mechanism for recognising the support that is offered to researchers throughout their careers. By implementing the principles of the UK Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, and in retaining this Award, the University has demonstrated its long-term commitment to the development of researchers.

This is a significant international award that provides an important benchmark to research funders and collaborators.

Sarah Priston, Head of Research Support at Bath Spa, says:

"Bath Spa was one of the first 50 UK higher education institutions to receive this award, and we are proud that we have been able to retain it across the five external review processes we have taken part in to date. The work in supporting the principles of the Concordat is a collaboration between the Research Office, HR and the academic schools, and is a real testament to the collegial nature of our work".

More information about the Award, and Bath Spa's submission and action plan can be found on our HR Excellence in Research page.
