BSU Public consultation

Bath Spa University (BSU) is inviting members of the local and university communities to attend a public consultation event for proposed development plans on land opposite its Locksbrook campus on Locksbrook Road in Bath. This ‘drop in’ event will take place from 12pm to 7pm on Friday 15 May in Room G26 at the Locksbrook campus, Locksbrook Road, BA1 3EL.

BSU is seeking feedback on its proposed plan (16MB PDF download) for a new mixed-use development comprising employment space, academic space and purpose-built student accommodation.

Members of the project team will be available throughout the day to answer questions and gather feedback.

Feedback from the consultation will help shape and inform a full planning application to Bath and North East Somerset Council, which will be submitted in summer 2026. The new site forms part of Bath Spa University’s long-term plans for sustainable and inclusive growth and investment in the Locksbrook area and the city of Bath.

To send feedback to Bath Spa University with comments on the proposed development, please use this consultation feedback webform. The closing date for submissions is 29 May.

Access to the Locksbrook building is available from the Locksbrook Road car park entrance, and the drop in event will be signposted on the sliding doors. There is limited parking on campus, so please consider alternative transport. Locksbrook Campus is a short walk from the Burnham Road (Lower Bristol Road) and Windsor Villas (Upper Bristol Road) bus stops. The Bristol to Bath Cycle path runs alongside the campus, and there are spaces to secure bikes on the river side entrance of Locksbrook building.
