During this five-day online course, you'll master Agile principles, methodologies and their practical application in your workplace. Once completed, you’ll have learned the basics of Agile, understand the roles of Developer, Scrum Master, and Product Owner, and gain practical experience in running a Scrum Sprint.
On day five, you’ll sit the British Computer Society (BCS) Foundation exam, which, once passed, qualifies you to receive your BCS Foundation Certificate in Agile. You’ll be supported by your tutor with exam preparation and revision materials.
Who is the British Computer Society?
The British Computer Society (BCS) is a global community made up of business leaders, educators, practitioners and policymakers, all committed to their mission.
As a charity with a royal charter, their agenda is to lead the IT industry through its ethical challenges, to support the people who work in the industry, and to make IT good for society. BCS assess and recognise talent at every level through a diverse range of qualifications, professional registrations, content and skills frameworks.

Overview
BCS Foundation Certificate in Agile will be delivered online across five days. The course will be supported by the BCS-recommended Core Text Agile from First Principles, which is fully integrated into the course.

This course has been designed and will be delivered by Coherent Training, a boutique Agile and project management training and consultancy company. They've used their 20-plus years of practical delivery experience to shape and expand upon the BCS syllabus, creating a product that they hope brings to life the theory.
Your trainer will have had both practical delivery and training experience, undertaken the BCS exam and hold a teaching and or training qualification. This practical experience when combined with Bath Spa University’s delivery experience presents a professional qualification supported by the rigor the university system brings.

BCS Foundation Certificate in Agile is open to individuals who are curious, motivated, and eager to build essential project management skills through a dynamic and engaging online learning experience that fosters collaboration.
This course is for partners of serving UK military personnel. Learners are required to be 18+ and must be able to provide evidence of their partner status.

You'll need a laptop to complete this course. Your device can be either a personal Windows device or a work device. If you're using a work device, you'll need full admin rights and enough RAM and memory to support your studies.
Your device should be able to hold a steady internet connection and be able to download and work with tools such as Microsoft Teams and Figma.
This course cannot be undertaken on a mobile device.
Before you start your course, it’s important to ensure that your computer is in working order and properly equipped for your course.
This course is fully funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust’s AF3 Supporting Partners programme and is free for partners of serving UK military personnel.

- Teaching: Tuesday 13 – Friday 16 October, 9:30am - 4pm
- Exam: Monday 19 October, 9:30am - 2pm
All teaching will be online.
