About the seminar
Professor Gloria Rhodes and Kory Schaeffer present on Conflict Transformation as developed by the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University.
They explore how conflict can function as a destructive force, marked by disconnection, violence and challenges to dignity and, a constructive force that brings light, renewal, understanding and reconciliation. The discussion addresses what moves conflict in either direction, including the roles of communication, worldviews, unmet needs and trauma.
About the speakers
Professor Gloria Rhodes is professor of peacebuilding and conflict studies. Gloria’s areas of expertise are peacebuilding curriculum development and pedagogy. These interests include conflict assessment and situation analysis, practice-related research, mediation and cross-cultural education.
Kory Schaeffer is the Director of Programs at the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding.
