We’re throwing open the doors of Bath Spa University’s creative campus for a Demo Night with a difference - part showcase, part street party, part creative collision. Canopy, the global community for entrepreneurs and innovators, is coming to Bath for an evening of live demos, honest conversation, and genuine good vibes.

Fireside chat featuring Zillah Watson

Our headline guest is Zillah Watson - Emmy-nominated immersive consultant and former Commissioning Editor for Virtual Reality at the BBC, where she headed up the BBC’s VR Hub and executive-produced critically acclaimed VR experiences including Doctor Who: The Runaway, The Turning Forest, and Berlin Blitz - premiering at festivals including Tribeca, Venice, and SXSW.

Zillah is also the founder of Phase Space, a female-led studio focused on using technology for good across mental health, sustainability, and education. Expect a candid, fascinating conversation about the future of immersive technology, storytelling, and what it takes to build something that genuinely moves people.

Student and Academic Demos

Student and academic entrepreneurs from Bath Spa University will take the floor to demo their ideas — no stiff pitches, no boardroom energy. Just real people showing real work. Expect bold ideas, unexpected projects, and the kind of creative ambition that only comes from a place like Bath Spa.

On the Night:

  • Live portrait artist - sit down and walk away with a piece of the night
  • Field recording in progress - a podcaster will be capturing the sounds and stories of the evening (you might just end up on air)
  • Food and drinks on us
  • Tours of our workshop spaces - come and see where the making happens.

This is an evening to connect, get inspired, and have a genuinely good time with people who are building things.
