Bath Digital Festival kicks off this week to explore Space, Sustainability and Being

Tuesday, 13 May, 2025

Bath Spa University is once again a key sponsor of Bath Digital Festival, showcasing the diversity and talent of BSU’s professional creatives and the wider South West region.

TechSPARK’s Bath Digital Festival kicks off on Tuesday 13 May and continues until Thursday 15 May. The free festival boasts a jam-packed programme of carefully curated events, speakers, and accessible locations in Bath’s city centre.

The festival aims to provide a platform for the entire South West region to explore, learn, and celebrate advancements in the digital and tech industries, and it is built around three themes:

Space: Beyond the Horizon – Highlighting the South West’s role as the UK’s third-largest aerospace cluster, this theme explores both the literal and figurative boundaries of space.

Sustain: Enabling the Future – From sustainable business models to mindful personal growth, this theme redefines what sustainability means for people, the planet, and communities.

Being: The Human and Beyond – With a focus on health, life sciences, and the intersection of technology with the human experience, this theme tackles neurodiversity, mental health, and advancements in robotics, computing and other tech.

Bath Digital Festival Curator Lucy Plaine said:

“We’re thrilled to bring Bath Digital Festival back for 2025. This year, our mission is to amplify the creativity and ingenuity of the entire South West region. The festival is a platform for everyone – from tech enthusiasts to professionals – showcasing the incredible talent and innovation we have right here.”

Bath Spa University and The Studio are proud to present events across the festival, including talks by University staff, The Studio and EMERGE residents, and showcases.
