BSU set to run second series of creative Short Courses during this year’s MA Degree Show
Monday, 18 August, 2025During Bath Spa University’s annual Undergraduate Degree Show, the University launched a new series of creative Short Courses, unlocking the art and design campus for the public and providing an utterly unique experience available to anyone looking to get creative.
This series of Short Courses offers the chance to gain new skills while utilising Locksbrook's brilliant workshops. Titled ‘Unlocking Locksbrook’, a second series of courses will return to the campus to coincide with the MA Degree Show, taught by artists and spotlighting everything this innovative campus has to offer.
Sophie Colman, Senior Campaign Officer, Centre for Innovation and Knowledge Exchange, said:
“Over the past few years, Bath Spa University’s Short Course Unit has provided opportunities for over 300 members of the BSU community, including alumni and local residents. Building off the success of our creative Short Courses held at Locksbrook Campus in June, we’re excited to continue collaborating with our Locksbrook colleagues, offer further opportunities for participants to unlock their creativity and continue to help embed Locksbrook in our local community."
Head of Business Development, Peter Russell, said:
“Our creative advancement short courses at Bath Spa University have proved immensely popular. They provide an opportunity for individuals to develop their skills in particular creative disciplines, or to explore completely new areas of interest, whether for career or hobby.
He continued:
“Our portfolio of courses is always evolving, and includes fields such as ceramics, screen printing, cyanotypes and painting. Most workshops take place at our wonderful Locksbrook campus. We limit the numbers on each course so that participants get the best experience and as much time as possible with our highly experienced tutors. Most courses also include something to take away, which can be great as a gift or simply a memento of the workshop and something to show to friends and family.”
