Personal statement

Iona (She/Her) is an Employability Coach in the Grad Success Team. The Grad Success Team designs, develops, and delivers a dedicated career support package for final-year students and recent BSU graduates. 

Her role includes supporting students and graduates in reflecting on their ideas, setting goals, and developing the skills and confidence to navigate their next steps after university. This is predominantly through offering one-to-one career coaching appointments, project managing scalable schemes and initiatives such as the Graduate Internship Programme and developing independent digital learning resources. 

Iona has worked in the higher education sector for nearly seven years, previously working in outreach and widening participation.  

Academic qualifications

  • L6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development (Currently studying) 
  • MSc Biotechnology 
  • BSc (Hons) Biology.
