Personal statement
Jason works as a senior lecturer and academic tutor on the BA Undergraduate in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Primary Education with QTS.
Prior to working in ITE, Jason started his career as a teaching assistant at an Oxford city primary school before completing his PGCE at Oxford Brookes University. After securing his first teaching role, Jason took on a range of leadership responsibilities at schools in both Oxford and Bristol, including subject leadership for science (achieving the silver Primary Science Quality Mark with his school), mathematics (introducing a change towards a Mastery curriculum and pedagogy) and then reading (embedding systematic synthetic phonics and reinvigorating the reading curriculum through Key Stages 1 and 2).
In addition to this, he was Key Stage 2 leader, an educational visits co-ordinator and organised a range of clubs, enrichment events and projects to support pupil wellbeing and behaviour.

- Teachers as Professionals (TaP) 'Planning for learning'
- Part of the Primary and Early Years mathematics team.
