Personal statement

Kate teaches plant biology and other natural history-related topics across all three years of undergraduate study. Having worked in communications and community engagement for a plant conservation charity, she is keen to bring the wonderful world of plants to life for more people.

For three years Kate led the national road verge campaign for Plantlife, working with councils, contractors and community conservation groups to save and bring back wildflowers to our verges. She has appeared on BBC local radio and television to discuss conservation initiatives.

Her own research focused on plant ecology and evolution. In recent years she has developed an interest in human connections with plants and is keen to explore the natural world in more creative and interdisciplinary ways. Do get in touch with Kate if you are interested in collaborating on projects.
