Luanne Thornton is a Disability Advisor and Sexual Violence and Domestic Abuse Caseworker in Student Wellbeing Services.

As a Sexual Violence and Domestic Abuse Caseworker Luanne provides practical support to students (18+) of all genders who have experienced sexual violence or domestic abuse, whether recent or historical. She offers guidance on reporting options, referrals to specialist services, and liaison with university departments such as academic schools and accommodation services. 

Please note that Luanne provides practical support and signposting but cannot offer therapy, medical advice, or legal advice. She can refer students to appropriate specialist services for these needs.

Alongside this, Luanne works as a Disability Advisor where she advises on disability support, reasonable adjustments, and access to specialist resources to ensure students can fully engage with university life.

Luanne also chairs the University’s LGBTIQA+ Staff Network, advocating for inclusion and equality across the institution.
