Personal statement

Moses O. Bankole is a resolute academic and cybersecurity professional with a strong background in computing, information security, and digital forensics. Currently, he serves as a Lecturer in Computing and Business Management at Bath Spa University, where he supports both academic staff and students in developing digital capability and cybersecurity awareness.

His role involves assisting with the development of training programmes and related learning materials, delivering live online workshops, creating self-help video tutorials and responding to or triaging individual technical enquiries. He also collaborates closely with the University’s Academic Developers and IT Services to enhance digital learning practices and promote secure technology use across the institution.

Alongside his teaching responsibilities, he maintains active engagement with cybersecurity research and practice. He holds a Master’s degree in information security and digital Forensics from University of East London and a BCs (Hons) in Computer Science from the same institution. He is currently completing his PhD in Cybersecurity at University of Portsmouth, where his research focuses on security challenges in autonomous systems and emerging digital infrastructures.

His academic and professional interests focus on the development of cybersecurity solutions, particularly the use of Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) to enhance network protection. He is also interested in developing cybersecurity monitoring dashboards using Python to improve security visibility and support initiative-taking threat detection.
