Personal statement

Rachel joined Bath Spa University's School of Education in 2022 and currently works on the SCITT PGCE team as a Teaching Fellow and Academic Tutor, supporting trainee teachers to complete their PGCE. Previously, she had spent 19 years teaching Modern Foreign Languages in a diverse range of schools in and around Bristol, with leadership roles in teaching and learning, staff development and regional outreach work.

With a passion for supporting teachers, classroom pedagogy and research, Rachel now focuses on working in partnership to support trainee teachers to develop their own classroom practice and professional learning.

In 2022 she pursued her own research interests by completing an MSc in Neuroscience and Education, having previously completed an MA in Education.
