Lakeside Village

Picturesque halls right next to the Commons and teaching facilities.

Lakeside Village offers a variety of single, shared, ensuite and accessible study bedrooms. This cluster of residences, surrounded by our gorgeous countryside, are often grouped around communal courtyards and offer a village feel that connects you to the heart of the BSU community.

A room in Lakeside Village means you’re close to Commons, the library and many of our teaching spaces and facilities. You might even get a view of the lake from your room!

Hiscocks, Harington and Pope

Hiscocks, Harington and Pope feature traditional halls with individual flats shared between eight and 12 students, with connecting corridors. This trio of buildings offers a mixture of standard single rooms and a small quantity of twin rooms, hosting two students.

Your room will include your own desk and chair, single bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, and personal wash basin. You’ll typically share bathroom and toilet facilities with no more than five other students on your floor. The kitchen and dining area are also communal, shared with your fellow residents on the top floor. These are ideal locations for meeting new people!

Langton, Temple and Gore House

Langton, Temple and Gore House are built around cosy courtyards, perfect for creating a community feel. These buildings offer a selection of our large rooms with shared bathroom facilities.

Your room will include your own desk and chair, single bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, and personal wash basin. You'll typically share bathroom and toilet facilities with no more than four residents on your floor, and a kitchen and communal area between four to eight residents. Gore House features an accessible studio flat, complete with a separate bathroom and wet room, as well as a ramp and automatic door to access the flat. This studio is allocated as a priority to students with access requirements.

Langton, Temple and Gore House really capture that home-away-from-home feeling.

Sydney

Our Sydney accommodation is comprised of standard rooms with the added benefit of a private ensuite bathroom. You’ll typically share a communal kitchen between eight to 12 residents.

Sydney bedrooms include your own desk and chair, single bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, and a modern fitted ensuite with shower, wash basin, and toilet.

Sydney residents love how close they are to Commons; you can roll out of bed and arrive at your lecture in minutes.

Average standard ensuite room size Sydney: 17m².

Corston Lodge

Corston Lodge offers privacy and independence for three residents who live amid our beautiful rural surroundings, adjacent to the Corston Drive (the road our students travel on toward the Newton Park campus).

Travelling to the campus is easy: from your large single room to the centre of Newton Park campus takes just 10-15 minutes to walk, even less by bike.

Your room will include your own desk and chair, single bed, wardrobe, and chest of drawers. You’ll share bathroom and toilet facilities with the other two students in the three-bedroom house, and the kitchen and dining area are also communal on the ground floor. The lodge has its own laundry facilities as well, a feature many of our other buildings don’t offer.

Whilst Corston Lodge is included in our Lakeside Village, it is separate from the rest of the Lakeside buildings, and students who opt to live here should be aware of this. You can see the lodge is located to the north of Newton Park campus on Google Maps here.
