Short Term Emergency Grant
Financial support for students experiencing delays with Student Finance in 2025/26.
Are you facing unexpected financial difficulty because your Student Finance has been delayed?
The Bath Spa University Short Term Emergency Grant provides limited discretionary financial support for students who are unable to meet basic costs from other sources of support, until you are able to receive your first payment from Student Finance.
How it works
- The fund is intended to support students in financial difficulty with day-to-day living costs rather than be a main source of income, and can't help with tuition fees or rental/deposit payments.
- Awards are discretionary and are paid in the form of a non-repayable grant.
Criteria
You can apply to this fund if:
- you're fully registered and in attendance on an undergraduate programme (full-time or part-time) at Bath Spa University
- you started your studies at Bath Spa University prior to September 2025 or started your studies from September 2025 onwards and are studying in Bath, at Bath Spa London – Hackney or Bath Spa London – Canary Wharf
- you're a home UK student (ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years prior to the start of your course, settled status)
- you applied to Student Finance in good time prior to the start of your course, and there has been a delay in the assessment of your entitlement
- you have no other available funds (including available overdraft)
