Year one
You'll begin by studying core business concepts. You'll also gain foundational skills in design thinking and methods for economic analysis, setting a strong base for your understanding of business operations and analytics.
Year two
As you build on your knowledge, you'll dive into more advanced analytics. You'll also have the option to explore cutting-edge topics like artificial intelligence and data transformation, helping you develop a well-rounded skill set in both business and technical areas.
Year three
In the final year, you will focus on applying your skills through in-depth modules in more specialist areas. You'll work on real-world capstone projects, applying your learning to solve practical business challenges. Optional modules will allow you to tailor your studies to your interests.
You'll be assessed through a variety of methods designed to test your business knowledge and analytical skills. These may include case studies, assignments, group projects and presentations.
You'll also work on capstone projects, where you will apply your learning to real-world business problems.
Some modules may involve data visualisation tasks and written reports, ensuring that both your technical abilities and communication skills are thoroughly evaluated.
You'll be taught through a mixture of lectures, seminars, and practical workshops, with a focus on real-world applications. Through case studies, group projects, and capstone projects, you'll apply your knowledge to solve business problems. You will also have the opportunity to work with industry-standard tools like Excel and Tableau for data analysis and visualisation.

We make use of our Virtual Learning Environment to support independent study and offer personalised support from our friendly team of academics to help you achieve your goals.

If you’re a full-time undergraduate student starting your first year at Bath Spa University, you can apply for the Certificate in Global Citizenship, which you’ll study alongside your degree.
You’ll gain global awareness and add an international dimension to your student experience, and funding is available. On successful completion of the programme, you’ll be awarded a Certificate in Global Citizenship. This is in addition to your degree; it doesn’t change your degree title or results.

The ideal candidate is curious, analytical and eager to apply data-driven insights to business challenges. A strong academic background in business, economics or a related field is advantageous, but we also value a proactive attitude, creativity and the ability to think critically.
We're keen to hear from students who are ready to embrace complex problem-solving and develop the skills needed for a successful career in business analytics.
We accept a wide range of qualifications for entry to our undergraduate programmes. The main ones are listed below:
- A Level – grades BBB-BCC.
- BTEC – Extended Diploma grades from Distinction Distinction Merit (DDM) to Distinction Merit Merit (DMM) in a relevant subject.
- T Levels – grade Merit in a relevant subject.
- International Baccalaureate.
- Access to HE courses – Access to HE Diploma or Access to HE Certificate.
