Announcing the first ever Immersive Audio Network Festival, an action-packed schedule of talks, practical workshops, opportunities for technical guidance on creative projects, and collective listening sessions.
The Immersive Audio Network (IAN) is delighted to present its inaugural Immersive Audio Network Festival, taking place on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, at the TV Studios, Bath Spa University.
This one-day festival celebrates spatial audio innovation with an eclectic lineup of workshops, talks and listening experiences.
Festival Highlights:
- Workshops including an Immersive Audio Recording Techniques workshop led by Grammy-winning mixing engineer and producer Andrew Scheps (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Adele, Metallica, Ziggy Marley)
- A live spatial music performance by Emika (pictured) - our Immersive Audio Network Sound Artist-in-Residence for 2026 who The Weeknd described as ‘sonically out of this world’
- ‘Ask the Expert’ stations offering bespoke technical and creative advice for spatial audio projects
- Collective listening sessions featuring spatial music played on IAN’s mobile Immersive Audio Lab of 25 Genelec speaker and 3 subwoofers showcasing emerging and established talent

Listening to industry and community needs, Dr Ruth Farrar from Bath Spa University and MyWorld established the Immersive Audio Network in 2023. IAN is a creative community dedicated to advancing spatial audio practice providing funded sound artist residencies, training, and events. Our Network connects artists, producers, engineers, and enthusiasts across the West of England and beyond.
