Kicking off the next chapter
Tuesday, 9 September, 2025With the new academic year off to a flying start, we caught up with recent BSU graduate and content creator ‘antskicks’ as he reflected on his own time at university and offered our newest cohort some tips and tricks on starting this September.
Having graduated this past July with a degree in Business Management (entrepreneurship pathway), Ant has been amassing his online following alongside studying. Home to the Bath Business School, the university offers many creative pathways within business including the likes of fashion, events, marketing and tourism to name a few.
Arguably this runs in perfect tandem with content creation, building skills like independence, original thinking and business savvy. Hearing from Diana Reader, head of the Bath Business School, she reflected on the potential avenues the entrepreneurial pathway can provide:
“The pathways within Business and Management allow students to shape their degree according to their career aspirations, interests and strengths. Choosing the entrepreneurship pathway within our Business and Management degree equips students with the mindset, skills, and tools to create, lead, and grow their ventures”.
She continued:
“On the entrepreneurship pathway, you’ll learn how to turn concepts into ventures and how to lead with purpose and resilience. You'll be challenged to think differently, act strategically, and collaborate effectively. You’ll also develop the ability to shape your own career — so my advice is to be creative, curious and confident!”
Upon graduating, Ant plans to commit to content creating full time.
“Graduating was a good day, quite an emotional day for my parents. But a day to remember forever. The plan now is full time content creator”
From fashion tips, giveaways and importantly, highlighting the latest shoe trends, Ants videos have garnered him a community of over 300 thousand people across Instagram and TikTok. His content has taken him all over the world, gaining momentum in his following for videos buying a random follower a shoe in every country.
Within Bath, his content covers where to find the best discounts for shoes and clothes, visiting and recommending different vintage shops and sometimes even inviting members of the public to participate in his videos. Commenting on his personal favourite locations to visit he said:
“The food, the scenery and the energy of the city - there’s still stuff I’m finding out I can do now, so there’s definitely a lot to explore and always something to do”
For food and drink specifically, Ants top spots are: Green street - the best sandwich, Matcha thing - the best matcha and LJ hugs - amazing food.
Now pursuing a life in Bath after finishing university, Ant also offered advice to new students about to start on their BSU journey, he reflected:
“Enjoy it. 3 years for me flew by and I would go back in a heartbeat to first year. Always say yes to the spontaneous plans and night outs, grow as a person. Bath has the best facilities and access to amazing hobbies, so pick something new up, join a society.”
