BSU celebrates Education graduates’ achievements at its first Autumn Graduation
Wednesday, 29 October, 2025Tuesday 28 October marked a special day in the Bath Spa University calendar, as friends, family, and supporters gathered at The Forum in Bath to celebrate the achievements of Bath Spa University’s class of 2025.
Over 800 graduates from BSU’s School of Education, including Postgraduate and Initial Teacher Education, SCITT and Teach First were recognised over three ceremonies during the University's first Autumn Graduation.
Ceremonies were officially opened by BSU Vice Chancellor Professor Georgina Andrews, with newly-appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Kyriaki Anagnostopoulou congratulating each graduate as they crossed the stage. The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Bath, Councillor Professor Bharat Pankhania, also joined the academic procession for the first ceremony of the day.
Speaking to the graduates and guests at The Forum, Vice Chancellor Professor Georgina Andrews said:
“Today, we are celebrating the outstanding achievements of students from a range of national and international contexts. You are graduating to lead in your professional settings, and to make a positive difference to others and to wider society. We are also celebrating the positive impact that our BSU Initial Teacher Education Partnership students continue to have on children and young people, as you enact our four principles of care, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking.”
BSU’s School of Education has been a leader in its field, inspiring students, teachers and other education professionals for nearly 80 years and is the largest initial teacher education provider in the South West. Working with school partners, colleges and early years settings, the School promotes excellence and expertise in educational research and practice across the globe.

“Today is an important milestone for all our graduating students. But it is a new beginning, a next chapter – not an ending. The challenges and opportunities that you have experienced throughout your studies will sustain you through all your new beginnings.
“Today is a day of celebration and this is an opportunity for us to share in your joy. School of Education class of 2025 – you are amazing. Congratulations!”
After their ceremony, graduates and their guests were invited back to Newton Park, where post-graduation celebrations were held with live music, food and drink, a photo trail and a live feed of the graduation ceremonies from The Forum.
Suzanne Harris, Audience Experience and Development Leader at BSU said:
“We held our post-ceremony celebrations at Newton Park for the first time since graduations have been held in the city centre. We were pleased to invite graduates and their families to join us in Commons and we enjoyed sharing memories and successes with them.”
