Wednesday, 11 June, 2025Bath Spa University is one of the highest climbers in this year’s Complete University Guide 2026, moving up 12 places, the highest rank from the last 8 years.
This national league table ranks the UK’s 130 Higher Education institutions and is based on ten measures including entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality, graduate prospects, spending on academic services and investment in student facilities.
Each year the Complete University Guide releases UK university and subject league tables to support prospective students in making informed decisions about their future.
The Guide groups course areas into twelve themes and Bath Spa University has made significant improvements to its "Student-Staff Ratio" metric, climbing 32 places, and improving by 12 places in the “Entry Standards” metric. BSU’s best overall theme performance continues to be its student continuation ranking, which is the proportion of students who continue in their studies after their first year, consistently in the top 60, with 55th place this year.
Overall students’ satisfaction at Bath Spa University is ranked at 77% with top placed University of Cambridge at 79% and third placed London School of Economics at 78%.
Notably, some individual BSU subject areas have seen particular improvements for Student Satisfaction, including Computer Science (87th up to 24th), History (85th up to 23rd), Creative Writing (44th up to 12th) and Music (59th up to 30th).
There are significant positives within the detail of individual subject tables at BSU with Music, Computer Science, and Communication & Media Studies all climbing into the top 50%, and English is now in the top 40%, for overall subject rankings.
As well as campuses in Bath at Newton Park, Locksbrook and Sion Hill, BSU also has a home in the capital, in vibrant Hoxton, East London.
The news follows on from recent success for the University at the prestigious Target Jobs Awards, which saw BSU win the Best University Employability Strategy Category demonstrating the University’s commitment to supporting students’ career developments.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Georgina Andrews welcomed the news:

I am grateful to colleagues across the whole of our university for all their hard work supporting teaching and learning, research, and knowledge exchange. These results illustrate the quality of our provision as an ambitious, professionally creative university for the future.”
