Monday, 15 December, 2025

In November, BSU students and staff celebrated Graduation for the Global Banking School (GBS) in Malta. BSU’s GBS in Malta is a licenced Higher Education institution that has been approved by Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), an independent, transparent, and international authority.

This was GBS Malta’s first graduation, and included GBS Malta students, graduated on courses approved by Malta Further and the MFHEA, along with BSU Franchised students from the following programmes: MA Business, MA Marketing & Brand Management and MBA Leadership. Though modest in size, with 25 students receiving their certificates, the graduation ceremony was a huge success.

The highlight of the event was the attendance of Malta’s Prime Minister, Robert Abela, was in attendance and provided a speech on the significance of the occasion;

“It reflects Malta’s evolution into a dynamic hub for high-quality education and career pathways.”

8 members of BSU’s Senior Leadership and Educational Partnerships team flew over in support of this milestone, and celebrated the day filled with heartfelt stories, proud families and a shared commitment to the future of Higher Education in Malta.

Professor Simon Haslett, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Partnership Strategy reflected on the day;

“It was an honour for me to personally congratulate each student who successfully studied Bath Spa University programmes delivered in partnership with GBS Malta at the inaugural graduation celebration last month in Malta. It was a pleasure to share this moment with graduates, their family and friends and to extend hearty congratulations on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, and to wish them well with their future plans. All graduates become members of the University’s alumni association and we look forward to staying in touch over the years to come.”

Celebrations continued into the evening with refreshments, photos, and live music. This graduation marked not the end, but the beginning of a strong and connected academic community.

Congratulations to all graduates! Interested in joining our GBS? Find more information here.
