A guide to events at BSU this festive season

The holiday season is here, and so too are a range of events and celebrations to get you into the festive spirit. From makers markets to comforting carols, keep an eye out for all the different events taking place across our campuses and in Bath over the span of December.

Locksbrook Lates - Winter Makers Market

Where creativity comes alive after hours at our Locksbrook campus. For the first time, we are opening the doors for Locksbrook Lates, a new after-hours series celebrating creativity, community, and connection. 

Open for free to all of BSU as well as the wider Bath community, discover unique, handcrafted gifts at our Winter Makers Market, where creativity shines through every stall. With items for sale from students, staff, and alumni, join us to celebrate local talent and find some special gifts in a vibrant mix of art, design, and craft.

‘Newton Park', a play re-telling the history of Newton Park over the past four centuries

December 1945. The war is over, but Newton Park lies in ruins. When four young women arrive under the watchful eye of Mary Dawson to help restore the abandoned estate, they soon discover they’re not just clearing rooms, they’re awakening them. As trunks are opened and artefacts uncovered, the past stirs: shadows lengthen, stories flicker to life, and the house begins to reveal the ghosts of those who walked its halls before.

A magical celebration of history and imagination, told in the very place where these stories first unfolded. Bath Spa Productions, in collaboration with BA Acting and BA Theatre, Festival and Event Production students, present 'Newton Park', a re-telling of the history of Newton Park over the past four centuries. Definitely not one to miss, buy your tickets now.

BSU Carol Service

Back again for another year, our BSU carol service is set to be a perfect evening of festivities, filled with carols, poetry and music. Open to all, accompany both students and staff in the iconic Bath Abbey and join in on the fun. With no need to book, it is the perfect addition to a wander around the Bath Christmas markets.
