What’s happening: BSU’s sustainable fashion store

Thursday, 18 September, 2025

Located in the heart of Bath, Somer, BSU’s sustainable fashion store is continuing to create opportunities for BSU students to immerse themselves in the world of sustainable fashion.

Dedicated to connecting with the local community and platforming students and local makers, Somer showcases ethically produced products designed and made by BSU students and alumni, supporting them to grow their businesses in an authentic high-street environment.

At the core of BSU's employability objectives is to connect students with industry and offer opportunities for post-graduate outcomes by creating a varied list of ongoing student work placements, from social media management to buying and merchandising.

Opportunities at Somer have been embedded into the BSU curriculum across a wide range of degree courses, connecting students with the industry and offering ‘real life’ briefs with local and national businesses.

Upcoming projects for students to get involved in include:

Sustainable Fashion Week

Sustainable Fashion Week is a nationwide community-driven initiative, and for 2025 the flagship hub will be at Somer. SFW aims to inspire and empower the fashion community, generating action from the ground up that supports a radical change in the public’s relationship with fashion.
