Bath Spa University hosts the first Adobe Innovation Summit in Europe
Thursday, 29 January, 2026Bath Spa University was proud to host the Adobe Innovation Summit – the first in Europe – at its Newton Park campus on 28-29 January.
The summit brought together key academic partners and stakeholders from across the UK Adobe Creative Campus network for two days of connecting, collaborating and strategic planning.
Talking about why BSU was chosen to host the summit, representatives from Adobe said:
“BSU was awarded Creative Campus Innovator status for their strategic use and integration of Adobe into many aspects of university life – curriculum, careers services and others. It was therefore the obvious location for us to host the inaugural Academic innovation summit.”
As well as hosting the event, BSU was one of three ‘spotlight’ universities along with UWE Bristol and Aston University that gave presentations on how they have successfully adopted and embedded Adobe into their day-to-day work and studies. The summit also included a student panel led by Kobe Distin, BSU Graduate Digital Fluency Engagement Officer, which focused on Generative AI. The students discussed their introduction to it, whether they use it and where they see the future of AI going.
Rachel Garman, Student Experience Manager (Digital Lead) at BSU, said:
“This was such an inspirational event for all of those part of the Adobe Creative community. We spoke to staff from other universities and strategised over what we can do for students. We learned from each other about our innovation strategy. It was a good chance to speak to people in the same position as us.”
Bath Spa became the UK’s third Adobe Creative Campus in 2022 and was the UK’s first institution to attain the Adobe Creative Campus Innovator status in 2025 for “setting new standards for engaging students through inclusive, scalable programs that foster creative confidence, career readiness, and standout visual portfolios that showcase the skills employers need.”
