Locksbrook Lates 2026: BSU celebrates creativity, community, and connection
Monday, 9 February, 2026Bath Spa University is once again opening its iconic Locksbrook Campus for Locksbrook Lates – a new after-hours series celebrating creativity, community, and connection.
The free events invite students, staff, alumni and the wider public to experience the vibrant atmosphere of Locksbrook Campus in a relaxed, social setting.
The series launched in November 2025, with a successful showcase evening and Christmas Makers Market proving to be a popular addition to the student and local calendar.
The Christmas Makers Market, which took place in December, drew huge crowds and offered students the opportunity to showcase and sell their work to the public.
The latest event in the series will showcase an evening of making, moving image, design-in-progress and sound across Locksbrook Campus.
There will be a range of activities on show, including:
- Drop-in badge making with Freelands Fellows Marly Merle and Dominic McKeown
- Artist film screenings exploring human + non-human intelligences
- Pivot Show — design work-in-progress across architecture, product, interior and textile design
- Music and Visuals from Bath Live Visuals community meet-up
BSU’s award-winning Locksbrook Campus sits at the heart of a vibrant community in Bath, with local residents regularly invited in to enjoy the facilities and experience student work.
Speaking about the series of events, Dr Natasha Kidd, Associate Vice-Provost, Student Experience, said:
"Locksbrook Lates are part of our commitment to positioning Locksbrook Campus as a generator at the heart of the South West's creative ecosystem. These evenings are where we throw open the doors of this iconic Herman Miller building and invite students, staff and the broader community in—to experience exceptional creative work, share a drink, and be part of something vibrant. We want the Lates to become unmissable: the kind of event people mark in their calendars because they know something exciting is happening here."
Fear not if you can’t make this month’s offering, as there are plenty more instalments taking place between now and the end of the academic year, with further details set to be revealed on the BSU website and social media platforms.
The dates for the upcoming events are as follows:
- Locksbrook Late 03: 12 February 2026 (5-8pm)
- Locksbrook Late 04: 5 March 2026 (5-8pm)
- Locksbrook Late 05: 31 March 2026 (5-8pm)
- Locksbrook Late 06: 5 May 2026 (5-8pm)
- Locksbrook Late 07: 11 June 2026 (5-8pm)
