Personal statement

Rebecca is the founder and manager of humanities for... (a partnership for people and place). Its vision is to place the humanities at the heart of decision-making.

humanities for... aims to amplify the impact of humanities teaching and research, adapt humanities curriculum to remain relevant and engaging, and integrate humanities knowledge for the purpose of contributing positively to cultural, societal, environmental and economic outcomes.

Rebecca has worked with and in universities since 2005, in both Australia and the UK, supporting academic and non-academic senior leaders through the process of change. Her expertise in governance, operations and partnership management for large-scale, multi-stakeholder programmes has resulted in many collaborations across a number of ‘flagship’ or  ‘transformational’ projects. These include environmental partnerships, sports health and community development partnerships, innovative entrepreneurship programmes, the coordination of a national infrastructure research facilities network, and regional cultural development in the north and west of England.

Having spent her early career in the performing arts, Rebecca transitioned from creative practice to (creative) management with a variety of roles in international arts festivals, start-up tech companies and as a freelancer for the private and third sectors as a business manager.
