A scholarship to support two international students throughout their degree.

The Hall Commonwealth Scholarship is supported by Godfrey and Sue Hall, to assist one successful student in their studies at Bath Spa University.

The Hall Commonwealth Scholarship is generously supported by donors Godfrey and Sue Hall. The Scholarship will offer financial support for up to two students from international commonwealth countries to assist them in their studies at Bath Spa University.

During the 2025/26 academic year, we expect to award one undergraduate scholarship of £9,500 and one postgraduate scholarship of £3,000, which each recipient will receive over the course of their degree. 

Criteria 

To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You are an international student from an international commonwealth country (UK Home students are not eligible).
  • Your main place of residence is an international commonwealth country (outside of the UK)
  • You are a current student fully enrolled on the first year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at Bath Spa University for 2025/26.
  • You must be a Bath Spa University student studying at either Newton Park, Sion Hill, Locksbrook or Corsham Court.

Students studying at our Educational Partner institutes or other providers and students on exchange programmes, distance learning or other modes of study are not eligible.

Application process

The application process will run in February-March 2026. Students who are eligible for this Scholarship will be contacted directly with instructions on how to apply.

Applicants are required to complete an online application form, which includes a short supporting statement (500 words) outlining how their degree will benefit both their career post-university and the community in their Commonwealth country of residence and how the Scholarship would help support them during their studies and time in Bath.

How applications are judged

Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarships and Bursaries panel or other appropriate staff usually within eight weeks following the application deadline. Decisions cannot be appealed.
