Sporting facilities
Whether you’re looking for somewhere to have a kick about, try a new sport or find a new team to join, we’ve got you covered.
Sports teams
Newton Park is home to our sports pitches for rugby, netball and football. It's where many of our clubs train, and we have clubs competing in BUCS (British Universities and College Sports) across seven different sports.
You can visit the Students’ Union website for more information about the facilities and sports societies on offer. And if you want to take part in a sport we don’t currently offer, you could set up your own society.
Students’ Union Gym
The Students’ Union Gym is exclusively for Bath Spa University students and staff, as well as Students’ Union associate members. You can find the gym upstairs in the Students’ Union at Newton Park. It has over 40 stations, including an Olympic barbells and free weights area. There are also qualified instructors on hand to support you.
Exploring the outdoors
Bath is also great place to run, walk or cycle. You’ll be able to explore the beautiful countryside around Bath, including areas you can’t reach by car such as the Kennet and Avon Canal, Bath and Bristol Railway Path and the Two Tunnels Greenway.
BSU Sports Ground
Bath Spa University Sports Ground, located on Lower Bristol Road, is currently being developed for use by students and staff.
Proud partners of Bath City FC
We're official sponsors of Bath City Football Club's stadium, Twerton Park. We've also taken our partnership with the club further by sponsoring both the women’s and men's first team shirts.
The sponsorship signified the start of an ambitious ongoing partnership between Bath Spa University and Bath City Football Club, giving our students and staff opportunities to volunteer, gain work experience and engage with the club and local communities.
