BSU Students pitch to Louis Vuitton's parent company LVMH Beauty

BA Business and Management (Fashion) students make the journey to London to pitch to LVMH – the parent company of huge luxury fashion brands like Louis Vuitton and Dior.

Led by programme leader for BA Fashion Marketing and Management, Mark Cox, the students were asked to pick an LVMH Beauty brand and create a suitable collaborative marketing campaign. The students had the opportunity to present to senior marketing professionals at the LVMH Beauty London HQ.

Third-year student Gemma Goulbourn chose LOEWE Perfumes in collaboration with Bodega Numanthia.

Speaking about the experience, Gemma says:

“I pitched a marketing proposal for LOEWE Perfumes, where I devised an immersive experience to promote the launch of a fragrance in collaboration with a vineyard called Bodega Numanthia.

She continues:

“The experience was absolutely amazing! I met so many like-minded people and gained valuable insight from marketing professionals. As nerve-wracking as it was, the experience was so much fun and has solidified my passion for marketing.”

The students were taken out of their comfort zone but pushed through with excellent ideas that impressed fashion and beauty marketing managers.

Third-year student Jena Blacker describes her experience pitching to Fenty:

“My pitch was for a charity collaboration between Fenty Skin and Coppafeel. During the pitch I discussed the brands, sector trends and finally presented the campaign and timeline. I received really good feedback from Fenty’s Marketing Manager and I absolutely LOVED the experience.”

The main takeaway for Jena was to take every opportunity, even if it scares you.

“This experience has taught me that no matter how nerve-wracking an experience or opportunity seems, to just take it. I was so nervous before, but as soon as I started presenting, I felt so much more comfortable and happy and ended up loving it by the end. I would do this again in a heartbeat!”

Talent Acquisition Business partner at LVMH Dior, and BSU Business and Management Alumna Chloe Marsden praised the students' hard work and bravery.

“All of the students were fantastic and blew the team away, they were very professional and gave great recommendations and pitches.”

Why Business at BSU?

The Bath Business School embeds industry experience throughout the curriculum, ensuring students have a wealth of knowledge and expertise to set them up for their future careers.

Mark Cox, Fashion Marketing and Management programme lead speaks on the value of industry experience for emerging young professionals:

“In both the 2nd and 3rd Year Fashion Marketing modules, we always work with brands in providing live briefs for students. This allows our students to engage with industry during their studies to understand real live scenarios and briefs. The students find it an enriching experience. The Bath Business School is always looking to provide students with as many opportunities to work with and network within the industry.”

On top of experience opportunities, a supportive learning environment is essential to help students reach their full potential.

Student Gemma Goulbourn says:

“I absolutely would recommend studying Business at Bath Spa University, the last three years have been truly incredible, and I can’t express how supportive the business department is.”

The time spent studying for an undergraduate degree can be transformative; BSU teaching staff prioritise student experience and learning – bringing students valuable opportunities to enhance employability and personal growth.

Student Jena Blacker describes her experience studying at Bath Spa University:

“These last three years have flown by, and I feel I have learnt so much. I think I have grown and improved both as a student and a person thanks to BSU. It is clear that lecturers like Mark Cox, Kirsty McBennett and many others have only the best intentions for students and truly want us to go on and do well. It is the experiences and opportunities that they brought us that have made us the best students we can be!”
